Mr. P. Did It! highlights the causes and effects of illiteracy in the life of a man who did not learn how to read until he was over 60 years old. In this fictional chapter book for early readers, the author relies on her recollection of key events as told to her by J. T. Pace in the mid-90s to reveal the reasons for and the consequences of his inability to read.
The first three stories, "Mr. P Sets a Goal," " Mr. P Goes to School," and "Mr. P Runs Away," introduce Mr. P as a young boy who experiences challenges and emotions to which most children can easily relate.
The final three stories, "Mr. P Almost Gets Killed," “Mr. P Goes to College," and "Mr. P Learns to Read," present the main character as an adult and allow readers to express concern, pity, and, ultimately, joy for their new friend, Mr. P, as he is determined to reach his goal.

Months before I graduated from Spring Valley High School in Columbia, SC, in June 2020, I was super excited and nervous. Excited because I was finally almost finished with school. Nervous because I didn't know what I wanted to do next. School has always been hard for me, not because I didn't try, but because I learn differently and at a slower pace than most students. I knew that if I was going to be successful in life, I'd have to find a job that I could learn to do really well and an employer who values my love for serving others and understands my differences. Several months before graduation, my parents and I were talking again about what I was going to do next. We decided then that with their help, I should start a business of my own so that I would be responsible for my success. It was then that I began to learn how to customize products that I think people will love. That's how Moore Puzzles and Gifts was "born." Yes, we specialize in puzzles, but "we customize so much Moore!"
